Bill Katt, CIT, CHMM, is the founder and owner of Katt Training & Consulting. With more than 30 years of hands-on industry experience, Bill brings a practitioner’s perspective to every training and consulting engagement.

His career began in 1993 at Clean Harbors Environmental Services in New Britain, Connecticut, where he advanced from field technician to foreman to field service coordinator. During this time, Bill worked directly in high-risk environments, serving as a confined space supervisor and responding to hazardous material spills—including Level A incidents.

Bill later transitioned into the training division at Clean Harbors, where he specialized in HAZWOPER spill response and hazardous waste management, delivering training for both internal teams and external clients.

In 1999, Bill joined Occupational Safety Specialists Corporation (OSS) as a technical trainer and regional manager. There, he expanded his expertise into consulting, policy and procedure development, auditing, and program design. He also developed and delivered training in:

  • Lockout/Tagout (Control of Hazardous Energy)
  • Confined Space Entry and Rescue
  • Spill Response
  • Hazardous Waste Management
  • OSHA Outreach Training (Construction & General Industry)

It was during this time that Bill began developing custom computer-based training, laying the foundation for today’s modern on-demand EHS training programs.
